RE:SHAKESPEARE

An App for Samsung and the Royal Shakespeare Company

We made an app to help young people unlock Shakespeare, by performing it.

Built with Samsung and the Royal Shakespeare Company, RE:Shakespeare is a tablet app for students aged 11 to 18. It features interactive games and videos hosted by RSC ambassador David Tennant, alongside mentors including actress Tamsin Greig, beatbox artist Shlomo, rapper and poet Akala, and RSC director Iqbal Khan. Each mentor unlocks Shakespeare's language differently, transforming difficult lines into lyrical challenges that invite students to reinterpret, remix, and perform them. Made with Cheil London and produced by UNIT9, the project replaces the distance between a student and the text with something more immediate: performance.
