ELEVATE

A Cinematic Film for Lexus

We made Elevate: a cinematic film following pro cyclist Christian Vande Velde through the mountains of Malibu.

Working with Team One for Lexus, we filmed Christian over three days at sunrise and sunset using a custom-built camera rig. The result is a story that moves through a full day, from sunrise to sunset, tracing his life from young amateur to Tour de France contender. Extensive post-production stabilised footage shot at 40mph on rough terrain, with frame-by-frame painting across six GoPro feeds to remove rigs and their shadows. The stereoscopic sound design, built by Plan8, responds to where the viewer is looking. Premiered at Colorado's US Pro Tour Challenge.
