BOSCH AR

An Augmented Reality App

An Augmented Reality experience which allows you to pick from five Bosch characters, and bring them into your world.

We wanted to create an opportunity for anyone with a smartphone to bring to life some of Bosch’s characters, painted circa 1500, into the world around them.

Bosch's incredible works feature many magical characters, it is incredible he painted these works around the year 1500.

Turning a 600 year old two dimensional character into something that walks and moves around your livingroom and has a personality of its own required a lot of experimenting.

With ARKit, we could integrate the characters in your space and literally have them disappear behind real objects. Occlusion is a powerful way to add a sense of realism to AR, by scanning your data locally and using that to hide the character behind the real mesh.

We love the beautiful, haunting work of Hieronymus Bosch, and were inspired by the annual Bosch Parade, in his hometown Den Bosch. Seeing Bosch come to life in the real world seemed a perfect challenge.
